About us

Hornbeam Publishing

We are a small friendly company in the UK offering copywriting, design and print production services. We can take care of all your editorial, design and production requirements for adverts, posters, flyers, leaflets, brochures, magazines, books and signage. We also publish magazines, books, sheet music and other printed material under contract. Our clients include high-end property companies, heritage tourism providers, arts and lifestyle magazines and dental and healthcare specialists.

Not-for-profit organisations we have worked with include Redbridge Museum and Libraries, the Sylvia Pankhurst Trust, Sussex Past, University of the Arts London, the Music Publishers Association, the National Operatic & Dramatic Association, the Nicholas Yonge Society and the Historical Association. In particular we welcome commissions from heritage and conservation organisations.

Originally known as Heritage Page, we were founded in 1998 to provide illustrated features on period houses and arts celebrities for lifestyle and property magazines. We also published the NODA London Magazine for the National Operatic Association. In 2006 we were relaunched as Hornbeam Publishing Ltd by Susan Homewood to develop the design side of our business for a wider range of clients in the arts and heritage sector.

Our track record

We are delighted to have a number of longstanding customers who rely on us for all their editorial, design and publicity needs. We are especially proud to have created all the printed and web-based media for the long-running Heritage Lottery Funded history project, ‘Celebrating Sylvia Pankhurst’ (2007–2019). As part of that project we produced two books, a wide range of publicity literature and ran the social media. We were the creators of the original Sylviapankhurst.com – now taken over by Redbridge Museum who relaunched the site in 2021. We enjoy a continuing association with the independent poetry publishers, Mimosa Books.
